i wish i were back in HK. i suddenly rmbd all the great times i had before i moved here. all the times i cld go for a hike on the many mountains in HK; the wonderfully cool autumns and winters; the terrific food (comparatively, s'pore's food realli sux, in my opinion); the countryside and little villages n farms tt u can hardly ever see here; the public transport (esp the mini buses); even the shopping. i also miss being a BNO (british national overseas), which is so much easier to write on forms than 'Singaporean'. and the passport colour was WAY nicer than the disgusting red. i cant believe i miss HK even tho i've spent more than half my life here in singapore. the moment i turn 21, i'm discarding my singaporean citizenship. goodbye, s'pore, hello, anywhere but singapore. dun ask me why i'm so prejudiced. i dunno either. maybe it's a deeply rooted, hk-born thing. or the fact tt if we had remained in hk, my mom wld haf been able to complete her teaching degree and get even higher pay than she was alr getting (which was already much higher than the salary s'pore schs give). or the fact tt if we hadn't moved, i wld get to see my dad much more often than once (and i mean one or two days, not even a wk) every 2 or 3 mths. |
