i'm currently in transit. the furniture for my rm came today when iwas still in sch. it looks gr8 - bkshelves lining 2 walls. space space space! my poor bks will no longer be so squashed. but the xtra space means i'll probably buy more bks... i've finished moving all my clothes to the new wardrobe, but tt's all. everyth else is still in my old rm, so, as i said, i'm in transit, hovering between both rms. it's gr8 watching Lyn so eagerly anticipating ownership of my old rm. i'm prolonging her suffering, mwahahahaha... i shld realli start studying for promos. but the prob is, if i start now, i'll most likely forget everyth by the time promos arrive. hmm. i'd do anything...
thanks to all the ppl who chipped in for my b-day prezzie! u noe who u are...(can't rmb who cos i lost the paper where farah wrote all the names) thx also to yii wen for the yummy cake u gave me today - sorri i was v v full n cldn't take another bite! hurray it's raining v heavily. downpours r enjoyable onli if i'm at home n not in sch, worrying tt i stupidly forgot to bring my umbrella. which, being the usual idiot tt i am, is wat happened to me today. why do i always bring my umbrella on sunny days n nvr on rainy ones? so i walked home in the rain today. luckily it wasn't as heavy as it is now. the sun was even out when i walked home - i think it was taunting me, refusing to show itself fully. but, i saw a rainbow! been a long while. tmr the furniture for my new rm will be delivered. my rm will soon be fully n beautifully renovated! Lyn is eagerly awaiting the great Handover, when she'll finally inherit my old (& smaller) rm, furniture n all. i'll finally get enuff bkcases to contain my bks. cos of my 32 encyclopaedias, many smaller bks haf been displaced to either the floor or stacked on top of other bks. talking abt my encyclopaedias, i shld get some special bkcase with controlled temp n humidity or smth, cos mould has a gr8 affinity for the covers n gold-lined pages. it's a bore to keep them clean. why do mould(s?) nvr attack my other, cheaper, more expendable bks??? which sounds better: -octopuses, or octopii? -mongooses, or mongeese? -Turks, or Turkeys? -mausoleums, or mausolea?
here i go scream my heart out and try to get to you you are my only one 'only one', yellowcard yesterday was my first b-day since i can rmb (or since we moved to s'pore 11 yrs ago) tt my father was present! (*gasps of surprise*) he arrived on wed, actually. n he was actually just making a stop here in l'il s'pore before going on to m'sia for work. but at least he was here. i was feeling sick today so dint go to sch. my father had to go to Hotel Rendezvous to meet a guy from internal security (or watever u call it) for a meeting. i was so sick that i decided to tag along to the hotel, where there's a pool where i can swim in. my sisters n i haf been to hotel rend. the last time my dad was here to meet his business ppl, they also met at the hotel n we all went n found the pool n jumped in n it was at night n it was frigging cold. the coldest water i've ever swum in. i think they must've added ice or smth. which is, i suppose, why there's a smaller pool next to the main one tt's filled with warm water. actually, i think it's a jacuzzi thing cos there's a button u can press n u'll get a water massage. anyway. so this morning i went with dad for an early morning swim. the water was not as cold before. but still colder than the pool at the club. there were two women alr there (n it was only 6 plus), swimming slowly ard. chatted wif one of them, n found out she was frm brisbane, austrAlia (u noe their accents), who enjoyed swimming n who'd been in s'pore for several dYEs. then went to kopitiam for brekkie (the australian-ness of the woman is getting to me, wat wif her accent n all tt), then dad met michael n i went home. then i realized my sole was hurting when i walked, so i checked n saw this tiny spot of blood. then i checked closely n saw a silver thing sticking out. v v v tiny silver thing. after trying (n failing) to get it out wif my nails, i took tweezers n pulled it out. it was a thin silver stick-like thing (thinner than a staple bullet) ard 1 cm long. casued me so much discomfort. lucky it dint go rite into my blood vessels. i can imagine it travelling to my heart. piercing it. making a hole. me dying. hmm.
no dance today so i'm just languishing ard the house. mebbe i shlda bot tix to go watch the sc dance concert tonight. see how sc's coping (without me, haha. jk, jk). in times of Desperation, A Rope Ends It. i rmb-ed to bring my umbrella today. then, to my dismay, the rain sorta stopped b4 PE. dismayed cos it wld haf meant i'd brought my umbrella for nth. fortunately, it rained again after sch. so i dint waste bringing my umbrella. haha, yeah, weird logic. read a bit of bio. replication, translation n transcription. essay test. bleh. i'm bored, again. how come launchcast keeps playing old songs tt i've rated 'nvr play again'. sigh. chasse. petite ballotes. toe-chasse... arrgh.
hmmz. went for dance yesterday n was the first one there - first one frmmy class, tt is. vanessa was dere practicing, dunno just for fun or private. i think she's preparing for a majors exam, cos the fat pianist was dere oso. the one i got for inter foundation. almost finished learning adage! now i haf to try to rmb. which is why i was doing funny steps in sch jus now n farah was asking me wat i was doing. hahaz. oso learnt grand allegro, with a funni sissonne smth step tt i'm positive i've learnt before but haven't done for ages. trying to figure it out. then got home and did some of the bio tut. left lots of blanks cos i cldn't be bothered to read the notes properly. luckily today she dint call on me to ans cos i wld haf just alternated stares btwn her n my paper (full of white spaces). watched minority report. surprisingly interesting. i thot it wld be like the matrix, or smth matrix-y tt i wld nvr be able to unnerstand. but it's actually v easy to follow. mebbe the last time (was it the onli time?) i watched the matrix was yrs ago n i dint watch it properly. rained cats n dogs this afternoon. no, scatch tt. more like tigers n wolves. dint haf an umbrella, silly me. ended up being accompanied all the way to the bus stop by farah n andrea, so nice of them. actually onli one of em was enough but farah wanted andrea to accompany her back to sch. hope they dun get sick on acct of sending me in the rain.
today was a weird day. after sch went home n dint feel like doing anyth, so i took a nap. a nap. i've not taken naps for yrs. altho it wasn't much of a nap cos i kept waking up n speaking wif lyn. then i woke n practiced the pirouette enchainement n attempted to make sense of the adage. got the intro but cldn't make head or tail of the first 2 counts. then went for dance. learnt first 16 counts of the adage n realized tt the first 2 counts i'd been trying to figure out are new steps so naturally i wldn't noe them. frm sept onwards the wed dance class will be a double class. which means approx 3hrs non-stop! i'll be getting home v late. currently listening to: 'O l'il town of bethlehem' by lyn n her flute. also yy2 playing 'leavin' on a jetplane' on her guitar. i'm the onli one among my sisters totally disinclined towards playing musical instruments, however easy. in pri sch i cldn't even master the recorder. how lousy is tt?

i wanna go skydiving. bleh sundays can realli get boring. there's nth to do ard the house. i alr went for a swim this morning. i've finished reading the last readable library bk. i'm alr listening to music. i've alr eaten. i dun go to church. there's nth on tv. it's raining. all of a sudden i feel like building a model airplane. i also feel like skydiving. i think i alr mentioned tt. climbing a tree also sounds fun rite now.
bio today was, for once, rather slack. just lots of copying to do. lit was dead, as per normal. watched Gattaca today for GP. gr8 movie, altho Jude Law n Ethan Hawke dun look alike. how cld one pass off as the other? Uma Thurman, as usual, just looks plain weird. somehow her face n features dun seem to look 'normal'. hmm. went swimming straight after sch. then had dinner n came back. Lyn's playing the flute again.
hurray new GP tchr! wat issit wif male gp tchrs? do they haf, like, a uniform or smth? cos this tchr n the other one (no names, lol) haf very, n i mean VERY similar fashion sense. tight pants, weird shirts. n those ugly shoes. tasteless ppl. nvr become a gp tchr for your sense of fashion will descend into extinction. pw sux. i haf absolutely no idea wat we're s'posed to be doing n dun give a damn. today dance began again! after more than a mth of hols, everyth is v rusty. terribly bored. 1. i'm wearing: t-shirt, shorts 2. i'm doing: duh. 3. i'm listening to: lyn practicing on the flute 4. i wanna be listening to: anything but the flute 5. i enjoy: swimming, dancing (except modern n jazz), horseback riding, scuba diving 6. i also enjoy: cycling, blading (just learnt!), reading, watching movies, etc 7. i am feeling: ultra bored 8. reason for listing these out: (refer to no.7)
yesterday went for supposed 'class' outing which turned out to be more of a lit outing. was surprised to see tt more than half of the lit ppl turned up... anyway waited till ard 12 for everyone who was coming to arrive. then went to hawker centre to eat. so by the time we got to sentosa it was afternoon. sooo crowded! but we managed to find a spot near some rock, and thankfully the place was shady. clare and yii wen went blading. at first they were sorta unstable on their feet cos they've not learnt blading before or haven't bladed frequently. stumbling ard, clutching at Andrea n I. later chengleng n samuel n mango came and helped the two. then andrea and I rented blades too. at first both of us were also unsteady but i think cos we were watching yii wen n clare the first time so we picked it up faster. blading is fun! very similar to ice skating, altho of course ice-skating is cooler in terms of temperature, and when iceskating i can use the blades to scrape the ice which is funner. with wheels i can't actually chip the cement road, can i? anyway after blading we went to find the others who were in the sea swimming. shortly after tt i left. had fun on the whole. the sun was pretty strong n today some of them were all red ard the face n arms. hopefully no one was sunburnt. i din even get a tan - not a noticeable one anyway. fortunately i dun usually get red frm a bit of sun. arrrgh tmr is mon's timetable!! our longest day replacing our shortest!!! this is so unfair. plus there's GP. yuck.
went to labrador park this morning. first time i've ever been there. looked rather like fort siloso n fort canning, with guns n cannons n 'secret' tunnels. there was this 6-inch gun that's the only one in s'pore tt's not blocked up, so u can look rite through the barrel at the other side. pretty cool. the tunnel was air-conditioned, but other than tt left pretty much intact. it was bombed yrs ago to prevent the japs frm getting the secret documents n weapons, n the debris is still there. got bitten several times by mosquitoes. now i'm here while everyone else is at church.
idiotic pop-ups. still celebrating the end of CTs. but i realized i've realli got nth much to do. not tt i wanna be (trying to) study again. hopefully the rj staff rm will go into spontaneous combustion this wkend so our papers go missing... they cant make us take CTs again, can they? hmm... mebbe tt wasn't such a gd idea after all. this morning i went swimming. there was this old man who arrived not long after i did. he swims weird. a cross btwn freestyle n breaststroke. n he was almost vertical in the water. no wonder he was so terribly slow! his one lap was my 3 laps. i shld haf gone to m'sia last nite. then i can take my advanced open water today till mon morn, then return just i time for sch on tues. a better use of my time. the review of war of the worlds in the paper was funni. the writer apparently thot dakota fanning's screams more terrifying than the aliens. haha
they're finally over!... need i say what i'm referring to? so dreading results. i shld start getting used to the letter F... lalala whatever at a loss as to how to occupy my time. shld i go watch a movie? wkends v ex. go swimming? yep. go for dance? yep, when it starts. slack? duh. there's this education fair thingy at suntec, where my mom's sch also has a booth. apparently Bill Gates attended it but my mom dint get to meet him. terrorists shld come bomb the Raffles City Convention Centre on July 6. i mean, look at all the ppl who're coming to support their cities. Chirac, Blair, M. Bloomberg, the Queen of Spain, not to mention all the olympic champions. not tt they're terribly important or anything, but the terrorists will definitely make a splash on the frontpages. and s'pore's reputation will be shot to hell. mwahahahahaha... i'm realli sleepy. the 5 and a half hrs after lit before 2.30pm in the library were totally useless. they dint make a difference at all when i was doing the chem paper. shld've just got it over and done with rite after lit so i wldn't haf been so sleepy. oh well. it's over. |
